Dwight Global Online School to host webinar series for ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors players
Dwight Global Online School, the official education partner of the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors, has announced a series of webinars for junior players, outlining the benefits of online schooling while competing on the tour.
The first webinar in the series will be held on Thursday 23 May at 1100 ET (1700 GMT) – registration is available here. The theme for the webinar is ‘Acing School and Tennis: When Online School is Right for Top Junior Players’.
Two further webinars will take place later in the coming months, both of which will look at preparing for US college tennis as well as giving hints and tips on the college recruitment process. Dates for the two additional webinars are to be confirmed.
Among the teachers, students and former students who will be part of the webinar series is former Dwight Global student Cooper Williams, who is now continuing his education and tennis career at Harvard University. Williams, who reached the boys’ singles semi-finals at 2023 Wimbledon and a career-high junior world ranking of No. 3 in August last year, will talk about his experiences of attending online school while competing on the junior tour and his transition to college in recent months.
Dwight Global students are able to join the Dwight Global Travel Tennis Team. Being part of the team, which has already competed at multiple ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors events around the world, allows players flexibility in scheduling classes around tournament play and practice. Teammates train, study and compete together at the events, and have the opportunity to take part in cultural outings.
Ranked within the top two online high schools in the United States by Newsweek magazine, Dwight Global sets the platinum standard in online private school education and is the ideal choice for aspiring young tournament players who want to balance their pursuit of excellence on the court and in the classroom. Dwight, the first school in the US to be accredited by The World Academy of Sport, was founded in 1872 and has a 152-year tradition of academic excellence. Dwight Global boasts top US college acceptances and provides flexible and year-round scheduling, while also customising an educational path for promising student-athletes in grades 6-12.
As the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors’ official education partner, Dwight Global provides all tour players with a 50% tuition discount, as well as webinars about college planning, mental health and leadership. Dedicated college counsellors skilled in athletic recruitment will work with each player starting in grade 9 (age 14-15).
Additionally, as Dwight Global students, players on the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors will have unique opportunities to study on-site at any school in Dwight’s global network, which has campuses in New York, London, Seoul, Shanghai, Dubai, and Hanoi. Students can also enjoy Dwight residential experiences, participate in performing arts collaborations, and go on trips and exchanges with Dwight students worldwide.
