DAY SIX QUOTES

Zheng Qinwen (CHN): “I finally showed I could beat the world No. 1 in her best surface, in the Roland Garros court. That means everything, because I always know I could do it. But it’s different that you know you can and that you show it. Today, I really show it. I’m so proud of myself. I am so proud for my country. I feel right now my mental is in another level.”

Carlos Alcaraz (ESP): “It was a really intense match. Really great match for both sides, I guess. I’m really happy with the level that I played. I fought until the last ball. The conditions were really, really tough with the heat, with the humidity. He played great tennis but I’m really happy to find solutions to have the mental strength to [come] back in the second set and get the win in the tie-break.”

Karolina Muchova (CZE): “I’m really happy. It’s great. I didn’t know when I will come back. I was hoping for Olympics, actually. I managed to play a few tournaments even before, so I’m just really glad I’m here with the team and I can play. Obviously I’m still getting the rhythm you know, on everything. I’m just trying to get where I was and then even better, so I think it’s gonna take a while but I’m just very, very grateful to be here. And I’m so happy that I made it to Paris, at least for the Olympics.”

Austin Krajicek (USA): “You don’t get that many chances as the Olympics is every four years. We had a chance in Tokyo, got fourth place, which was probably one of the hardest losses of my career. You never know if you’re going to get a chance to do it again. And, fortunately, we were able to get here and we’ll get one more go.”
