The image, taken by Neha Ganerwal, is foremost of ten winners selected from more than 800 submitted by independent photographers from around the globe, showing a diverse range of sports disciplines, from heart-stopping action shots to powerful images that encapsulate the essence of teamwork and perseverance, from elite athletes to grass-roots.
World Sports Photography Awards are the biggest sports photography competition in the world with more than 7,000 images submitted each year across more than 30 sports. The awards highlight the moments of triumph, resilience, endeavour and passion in sport captured in moments of pure storytelling. |
